INTERTHOR DONATES 167 PALLET JACKS TO GOODWILL
Recently, Interthor Inc. donated 167 pallet jacks to Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago. “This was remarkable generosity,” said Billie Torrentt, chief retail officer, Goodwill. “I can’t say how much this donation will impact our operations, pallet jacks are some of the most used pieces of equipment in our production areas.”
“We had pallet jacks in our warehouse and I was looking for a good cause to donate them to,” said Jesper Jorgensen, Interthor Vice President of Sales. “I met a Goodwill representative at Fairchild Equipment, one of Interthor’s long time material handling dealers in the Milwaukee area and as I learned more about Goodwill it seemed a perfect fit.”
After a tour of the Milwaukee headquarters Jorgensen said, “Goodwill is so much more than a retail destination, I saw an organization that offers adults with disabilities and disadvantages a chance for independence through training and employment.”
This belief in the Power of Work dovetails with Interthor’s business model perfectly. “We offer part time jobs to people with injuries that prevent them from holding full-time positions,” said Jorgensen. “I knew we had selected the right company for our donation and I am confident our pallet jacks will come in handy in the 67 Goodwill Store & Donation Centers.”
