The barrow - the very first material handling equipment made by Nisap/Logitrans…
Barrows have always been an important tool for material handling. The barrow was the first equipment for material handling, which was manufactured by Nisap in the very beginning.
During World War II, it was difficult to buy rubber wheels; therefore, most of the barrows had iron wheels. Nisap offered different models, which covered the needs of both farmers, construction industry and brick factories. The barrows were available in different sizes, made of wood or steel. When the material was wood, the local coach builder was helping. When the material was steel, it was bent and welded at Nisap.
At the time when Nis A. Pedersen visited Carl Møller in Nagbøl and experienced how to make a barrow box in one pressure, the barrow production at Nisap was stopped. Nisap barrows were no longer competitive.
