Ergonomically correct cleaning and maintenance of hospital beds
- in a safe and efficient way
It is a fact that today's hospitals face many challenges to ensure patient and workforce safety. Around the clock, hospitals need to focus on hygiene to prevent infections and on ergonomics and safety to protect the hospital workforce.
The hospital of Gävle, Sweden, is focusing on these subjects as well. The hospital wanted to optimise their cleaning routines and make the procedures concerning cleaning and maintenance of the hospital beds more ergonomic and effective. The process of cleaning the hospital beds were challenging, since the beds were heavy and difficult to clean at the bed bottoms. The hospital needed a solution that could make the cleaning and maintenance processes easier, more efficient and ergonomically better.
The solution the hospital was provided with was specially developed in cooperation with the hospital workforce to accommodate their needs. The solution was to lift and tilt the hospital beds to expose the bed bottoms and achieve higher hygienic standards, better ergonomics and safer maintenance.
“In cooperation with the hospital workforce, we have developed a special Logitilt, which can easily lift and tilt hospital beds. We have had focus on hygiene, ergonomics and safety!
Tilting of the hospital beds is ergonomically correct and makes it very easy to clean the bed bottom, frame and the electric motor, and the wheels of the bed can easily be exchanged and maintained! In this way it is easier to prevent infections and ensure a clean environment.”
